Grants manager – Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH), Uganda and Vice-President for Communications and Operations (interim) of the East African Research and Innovation Management Association
Stella is a Grants Manager at Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) with over ten years experience in supporting health sector donor funded programs. Her core expertise resolves around seeking funding opportunities, meticulously preparing grant proposals and budgets, and skilfully negotiating grant contracts to maximise their impact. Stella played a vital role in the establishment of the MakSPH Grants Office, actively contributing to the development of essential resource documents, including the Grants Procedures Manual and Standard Operating Procedures. Throughout her career, she has been a mentor to nearly 150 research administrators, sharing her knowledge and experience. In 2021, Stella and her team received a prestigious grant award from the NIH/NIAID to boost research management capacity at MakSPH and partner universities in East-Africa.
