Nana Akuffo (RMP)
Senior Research Development Officer – University of Ghana, Ghana and General Secretary of the West African Research and Innovation Management Association
Nana has an MBA from the Central University, Ghana and she holds a certificate in project management. She is the current Assistant General Secretary of the WARIMA and a Senior Research Development Officer in charge of the Grant office at the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana. She was the Coordinator for the Office for Research Support and the Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research. At this institute she initiated the establishment of the Office for Research Support. She also played a key role in the establishment of research support offices in institutions across Ghana and West Africa, including the University of Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Methodist University College, Ghana, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, National Public Health Institute of Liberia, University of Liberia and the University of Sierra Leone. Nana is a member of the technical committee of the Africa Research Management Capacity Strengthening Programme at the Science for Africa Foundation which is responsible for the design and implementation of the Good Research Management Practice Standard (GRMP). She is also an IPRC recognised Research Management Professional (RMP).
