Prof Joseph Chuma
Prof Joseph Chuma is the acting Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research Development and Innovation at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) and a Professor of Electronic Systems Engineering. Prof Chuma has over 24 years of experience in teaching and research, consultancy, and human resources development in telecommunication, computer, and electrical and electronics engineering, including CISCO computer networking.
Prof Chuma is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (MIEEE); the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET); Botswana Institution of Engineers (BIE); and is a Professional Engineer registered with the Botswana Engineers Registration Board (ERB). He is the Vice Chairman of the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA); a member of the Registration Committee of ERB; a member of the BIUST Council and he has served as a Council member of BIE. He also served as an International reviewer to several IEEE Transactions and served as a Technical Program committee member for IEEE.
Prof Chuma has several patents registered in his name, and he successfully completed research projects to the value of USD 4 million. He authored/co-authored three books, three book chapters, and many refereed, published scholarly/scientific journal articles.
